FITNESS CHALLENGE DESIGN

The fitness challenges are designed for students to have some fun exercising at home as well as assist parents with additional activities for their children to do. Each completed challenge earns students points. These points should be used for goal setting as well as a guide to self - assessing progress. All the challenges are designed to have students complete them to the best of their ability. Like everything we do and learn, improvement only happens with practice. I encourage students to choose a variety of activities to complete each day as well as each week. The interactive videos were chosen to show correct physical form when completing the exercises, to provide further information and/or to provide some motivation and inspiration. Students should try and combine the challenges so that they are getting a variety of exercise each day and each week. Click on fitness challenges in top right corner to see the activities.

I have provided two documents below to print out, if you want, once you have watched the videos. You will also need to print out the self assessment sheet.

The idea behind the self assessment sheet is for students to set daily and weekly goals for exercise. Each time they complete an exercise they need to record the number of points. After a 24 hour period, add the points up and see how you are progressing. Place a tally mark or check mark under the appropriate criteria in the self assessment chart. Remember you get points for sleeping and drinking water, two very important aspects to staying healthy. Keep track of your progress by saving your sheets for later evaluation.
