Reporting Guidelines

During the 2024/25 school year will continue to use the Proficiency scale for reporting on student achievement.  All Saanich Schools have moved to this reporting method (K-9) but this may be new to some students at ROMS. Proficient is the goal for all students. Students may be able to attain an 'Extending' if they are demonstrating skills and knowledge above what is expected of them in a their grade. 

• Emerging: " I do not get it" , "I need help" I have an Initial Understanding

• Developing: " I get some of it" " I need clarification on this..." I have a partial understanding

• Proficient: " I get it, I am comfortable to do this on my own",  I have a solid understanding

• Extending: " I can teach this to someone else" The student is above where they should to be for their grade level. I have a sophisticated understanding
