Team Awesome

Congratulations to those students who are demonstrating GRIT and GROWTH MINDSET by putting in the effort to BE MORE AWESOME!

Team Awesome for Oct 26: Kieran, Rain, Avishan, Bella, Maggie, Alie, Aiden, Caspian, Veeraj, Summer, Finn, Nathan, Gunner, Sunny, Kira, Aden, Ella, and Kaercher.

Team Awesome Timeline:

By 3:30 on Monday (Tues. if a holiday/NID) - Students are on Team Awesome.

By 3:30 on Tuesday - Student is not on Team Awesome, but they are all caught up. No further action needed.

Wednesday - Working Wednesday lunch. This is an opportunity for students to catch up on overdue work, work on the current To-Do list, or get help to create a plan for success.

Wednesday after school - Parents will be emailed if a student still has overdue work. If you receive an email, please encourage your child to "Keep up before they catch up" by making a plan for the current week's work.

Please note: Students may not be on Team Awesome for a variety of reasons, including being absent & forgetting to ask for missed work (or exemptions), not handing work in, not following directions, or submitting work far below what they are capable of.

Homework

I do not assign formal "homework" to students. They should be able to finish most of their assignments during the time given at school - assuming they are using their class time effectively. Some students may need additional time to finish up or they may choose to extend their learning, requiring some time spent working outside of class.

I encourage all students to play, be active, get outside and engage in face-to-face (not online) conversations as part of their nightly routine.

Students are highly encouraged to practice new skills being learned, study, review and/or read for at least 30 minutes in the evening whenever possible.

Each week there will be a “To-do List” for students to complete.

Assignments may be added to the list throughout the week. Assignments on the To-Do list will be due the following Monday. If students complete the list on time, they will be on “Team Awesome” for the week. Please encourage students to keep track of this list and to ask questions if they are unsure of what to do.
