A message from mr. Westhaver

Welcome to this “new look” course information guide for Claremont Secondary School. We have shifted from a pdf Guidebook format to this web based version. We hope you find success navigating through the information and learning about the many courses offered at Claremont. In addition please view the many YouTube videos on Spartan TV we have created that profile some of our programs.

Many of our innovative course offerings strive to put students at the centre of their own education, allowing them to discover, embrace and fulfill their passions with relevant learning opportunities. Students who find learning a challenge are supported to help them understand their own learning style and strive for success. Our ultimate goal is for students to graduate with dignity and options.

This web guide describes all of the courses and key information that students and parents should carefully consider. It is important for students to think of their high school years as a program of studies. To that end, they should carefully read the course and program descriptions to ensure they know what is required in order to meet their academic goals.

Students and parents should work together carefully and thoughtfully making course selections. The school’s timetable is based on the requests students make in March. Without sufficient interest and enrollment, some courses may not run next year, and once the new school year begins, making changes to individual student timetables may be very difficult. So we hope students choose carefully and commit to the courses they select.

Thank you for supporting your child’s education.
