Parents please complete the tasks below

Hello and welcome to another great year of math at Oak Bay. Please complete the two tasks below. It will only take a minute and will enable us both to support your child in math!

TASK 1: Student Math History

Please fill out the Parent intake form so that I can keep you up to date with your child's progress.

Task 2: Explore my website.

-Can you find the course timeline?

-Can you find the detailed homework solutions?

Task 3: Stop supporting these math myths

  • There are math people and non-math people. Not true, the brain is very flexible and capable
  • Math abilities are genetic. Not true. Stop saying don't worry honey, I was not good at math either
  • “A” Students are really good at math because they are smart. Not true. "A" students work hard for their marks. They also study differently
  • If you have always struggled in math, you always will. Not true. Your brain grows during struggle. Mistakes are important for brain growth. Be encouraged success is possible for all.
