Add-ons are additional tools that are created by 3rd party developers (not Google) that add functionality to Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
To add an Add-on go to the Add-ons menu in any of these apps.
Apps are defined as self contained applications (programs/software)
Google Apps are web-based applications such as Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
There are a variety of web-based Apps you can add to your App Launcher through the Chrome Web Store.
The App Launcher is located to the top left in Chrome.
When selected, the App Launcher opens a new tab that displays all Apps you have added to Chrome including: Docs, Drive, YouTube, Gmail, Sheets, and Slides.
Each of these icons are essentially short-cut links to those Apps.
The chain-link is associated with web address links (URLs).
In most cases (Google Classroom, Docs, Slides, etc.) clicking on a chain-link will allow you to insert a link.
In Google Drive - clicking on the chain-link will give you a link that can be shared
You will see the Chevron on the right side of the edit bar in Google Docs, Slides, Sheets and Drawings.
Click to hide the Menu: such as when you are projecting on a white board and need more visible space.
Note: it changes to 2 Down Arrows when menu is hidden - click to unhide menu.

Drive is a file storage service created by Google.
It allows users to store files in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files.
Where can you find files that have been share with you? Look for the "Shared with me" menu option on the left in Drive. This will allow you to see all files/folders that have been shared with you.
Docs is a web-based word-processing application by Google (like Word)
Chrome Extensions are small software programs that are added directly to your Chrome Browser.
Installed extensions are located on the top right corner of the Omnibox (address bar) in your Chrome Browser.
Extensions can be added through the Chrome Web Store
In Google Drive, Calendar, and Gmail you will see the Gear icon in the top right corner.
Click on this icon for Settings and other additional options

The Incognito window opens a new window in Chrome where you can browse the Internet in private without Chrome saving the sites you visit.

Omnibox is the term used to describe the area where you see web addresses in Chrome.
The Omnibox can be used for almost every task on the Web:
It is a search bar, can do math problems and unit conversions, can be set as a timer, and so much more.
Clicking on the paper clip allows you to attach a file (from your Google Drive or Computer) such as a document, image, presentation, spreadsheet, etc.
You have probably already seen the paper clip used to indicate attachments to emails in Outlook.
Slides is a web-based presentation application by Google (like PowerPoint)
Sheets is a web-based spreadsheet application by Google (like Excel)
A web page creation tool and hosting application by Google.
Allows for collaboration and sharing like all other G Suite apps.

Click on the vertical ellipsis in any Google Application and you will have more options tailored to that application.
For Example:
In Chrome: access to bookmarks, history, settings, zoom etc.
In Google Classroom: edit, delete, post, email etc.
The Grey Waffle in Google Drive or on the Google.com/ca webpage - provides a default list of commonly used Google Apps.
The Colourful Waffle in Chrome = Chrome App Launcher (see definition above)
Opens the YouTube website or allows you to directly insert YouTube videos to other Google Apps such as Classroom, Slides, and Sites.
