Garden Harvest, continuously running
What we're doing: We provide fresh produce to the school community, with everything grown in our school garden. Experienced Harvest Group students guide interested students in tending to the plants and harvesting them. Then, we weigh, package, and sell the produce every Thursday in the school foyer. The offerings change seasonally and include peas, garlic, kale, arugula, chard, broccoli, broccolini, lettuce, beets, and salad mix. Prices are often competitive with grocery store pricing (seriously!)
Impact: Produce sales have been held almost every Thursday since September! These are super successful and all profits go into funding KELP. This year, we've upgraded: we can take tap card and cash. Stay healthy, Mount Doug!
