Bin Lid Painting Workshops

What we're doing: At these workshops, students create the signature bin lids that go over the blue recycling bins at school. This process involves cutting and taping the lid to the proper shape, and then going wild with fun colours and designs.

Impact: It was found that the cardboard lids with the can-sized hole cut into the middle greatly reduced the amount of improperly disposed of items found in the refundable recycling bins. Previously, items such as paper would be mistakenly thrown in there, but this design demonstrates that these bins are only for clean drink containers.
