Each year, the Glacier High School Wolfpack Speech & Debate Team selects a theme that serves as more than just a slogan. It becomes the foundation of our culture—a reminder of who we are, what we value, and how we choose to represent ourselves, our teammates, and our community.
For the 2026–27 season, Wolfpack Speech & Debate is proud to announce its theme: CALLING ALL RAVENS
At first glance, it may seem like an unusual choice for a team called the Wolfpack. But in nature, wolves and ravens share one of the most remarkable partnerships in the animal kingdom.
Ravens are among the most intelligent birds in the world. They are observant, resourceful, and exceptional communicators. Often serving as the "eyes in the sky," ravens alert wolves to opportunities and potential dangers. In return, wolves provide opportunities that benefit the ravens. Neither species relies solely on itself; together, they are stronger than either could be alone.
That relationship perfectly reflects the culture we strive to build within Wolfpack Speech & Debate.
Championship teams are not built by individual stars. They are built by teammates who encourage one another, share knowledge, celebrate each other's successes, and step forward to help whenever they are needed.
This season, we are CALLING ALL RAVENS:
We are calling the students who notice when a teammate needs encouragement.
The students who stay after practice to help someone improve.
The students who cheer just as loudly for another event as they do for their own.
The students who celebrate team success ahead of personal recognition.
The students who quietly make the entire Pack stronger.
For us, being a Raven is not about a title—it is about a choice.
It means recognizing that every member of the team has a role to play.
It means assisting teammates through encouragement, feedback, and support.
It means valuing preparation, understanding that confidence is earned through consistent effort and practice.
It means energizing the Pack by bringing enthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to serve others.
It means navigating challenges with resilience, responding to adversity with determination rather than excuses.
Most importantly, it means serving something bigger than yourself.
Every practice.
Every round.
Every tournament.
Every interaction.
Each member of Wolfpack Speech & Debate has the opportunity to leave the Pack stronger than they found it.
Throughout the season, this theme will come to life through traditions that celebrate teamwork and service. Students will participate in "Raven Days," supporting teammates outside their own events, and "Raven Recognition," honoring those who strengthen our culture through leadership, encouragement, preparation, and selfless service. Success will be measured not only by trophies and championships, but also by the impact we have on one another.
For nearly two decades, Wolfpack Speech & Debate has been built on preparation, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. Those values remain at the heart of our program. This year's theme simply reminds us that excellence is never achieved alone.
The strength of the Pack comes from every member who chooses to contribute.
The wolf represents strength. The raven represents awareness.
Together, they represent what Wolfpack Speech & Debate is all about: individuals working together to achieve something greater than any one person could accomplish alone.
As we begin another season, our challenge is simple:
Look for ways to help.
Look for ways to lead.
Look for ways to serve.
Look for ways to make someone else better.
Because when every member chooses to be a Raven…
1. Recognize Your Role
Every student—from novice to varsity competitor—has a responsibility to contribute. Every person matters.
2. Assist Your Teammates
Great teams do more than compete together. We support each other by watching rounds, giving feedback, encouraging teammates, and celebrating success.
3. Value Preparation
Ravens succeed because they are observant and aware. Wolfpack competitors succeed because they prepare, practice, and put in the work before they ever step into a round.
4. Energize the Pack
We bring enthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to help others succeed. The goal is not just individual success—the goal is making everyone better.
5. Navigate Challenges
Every season comes with setbacks: difficult rounds, tough tournaments, and unexpected obstacles. Ravens adapt. Wolfpack responds.
6. Serve Something Bigger
The Pack is bigger than any one competitor. Every action, attitude, and effort impacts the people around us. The question becomes:
“Did I make the Pack stronger today?”
The logo, designed by Claire Palmer, features Glacier High's school colors of navy and Kelly green against either a gray or white background. The three wolves represent the Wolfpack, while the raven soaring in the background symbolizes this year's theme, CALLING ALL RAVENS, emphasizing the vital role every member plays in strengthening the Pack.
We plan to use this logo, featuring different color combinations, as well as two alternate logo designs that may be used throughout the season for special applications, apparel, or promotional materials.
We invite the Glacier High community and all supporters of the Wolfpack Speech & Debate team to join us in embracing this year's theme and the values it represents. Together, we will continue to strive for greatness and make this season one of our most successful yet. Feel free to use the logo whenever needed!
