The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that recognizes high school students for their academic achievement, leadership, service, and character. Founded in 1921, the NHS has chapters in all 50 states and many schools around the world. Glacier High has been a member of the NHS since its inaugural school year 2007-2008.
The NHS emphasizes the importance of four pillars of membership:
Scholarship: Students must meet high academic standards
Leadership: Students should demonstrate leadership experience
Service: Students should perform selfless acts to help others
Character: Students should meet standards for character

In order to create meaningful volunteering opportunities, the Glacier NHS encourages students to do more than show up to volunteer for an event.
Students will be able to volunteer to take the lead on an event and help coordinate their fellow volunteers with the event sponsor. Each event may have different requirements to be developed but this will include communicating with the event sponsor to determine the needs of the organization and scheduling volunteers.
Please speak to Ms. Connolly or Mr. Lapke if you are interested in taking the lead for an event
