Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. Our chapter supports the Society’s standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  These four ideals are considered for the selection process. Membership in the Glacier High School Chapter not only provides an opportunity for personal growth and community service but also nationwide recognition and eligibility to NHS-specific scholarships, as well as the opportunity for international travel. 

Eligibility

• Students must be in the sophomore, junior or senior class with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater.

• Students must also demonstrate a high standard of scholarship, leadership, service, and character through involvement in community, extra-curricular and/or school activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Attend chapter meetings, chapter meetings are held quarterly

• Participate in our chapter service projects (i.e. Student Tutor, Mentor Program, Wolfpack Welcome)

• Engage in an individual community service project(s)

• Complete, document, and submit a minimum of 12 volunteer hours per year of membership

• Pay the one-time membership dues $25 (need based scholarship available)

• Maintain standards of scholarship, leadership, service, and character

Induction

• Induction into the National Honor Society takes place one time a year in the fall. 

• Newly inducted will pledge their commitment to the four tenets of the NHS, citizenship, service, scholarship, and character. 

• New member induction takes place at 7:00 PM, on Monday, October 6th, 2025, in the Glacier High School Performance Hall.

Students may apply for consideration to be accepted into the Glacier NHS only during the fall application window. 

• A complete online application is required for a candidate to be considered. 

• You must be logged into your school district account to submit and you will receive a copy of your submission through email if you properly submit your application. 

• If you do not receive an email confirmation of your application, then you have NOT properly submitted an application. 

• September 17th, Application Opened

• September 26th, Application Closed

• September 30th, Notifications of acceptance or denial will be distributed starting on September 30. Notifications may happen over multiple days. 

• October 6th, Induction 7:00 pm GHS Performance Hall 

• October 13th, New Member meeting will take place during lunch
