"Theatre is a vehicle to learn about life." - David M. Hashley
Fine Arts Distinction acknowledges graduating seniors that complete a plan emphasizing a fine arts focus in one of the three Fine Art areas: Music, Theatre, or Visual Art. To be eligible for this distinction the student must complete all requirements in one area. Students earning this distinction are eligible to wear a lavender color distinction cord at graduation.
Theatre Requirements
Three credits (6 classes) in any of the existing theatre classes. See "Our Classes" page for listing of offered courses.
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
Two Activity Letters in Theatre
Lettering Information
In order to letter in theatre a student must complete 25 Lettering Points within one academic year.
The following are the point values for productions at Flathead High School:
All School Production - 10 Points
Class Productions - 5 Points
Festivals - 5 Points
All positions (actor, technician) are counted for the same value, with the exception of the House Manager, which is counted for 5 points regardless of the show.
Lettering Applications are available in PA40 starting in April every year.
Letters (or pins for subsequent letters) will be given at the Theatre Awards Ceremony held annually directly after the final Acting 4 performance.
Only one letter can be earned in an Academic Year.
