FHS Social Studies Mission Statement:
The Social Studies department offers diverse and impactful course offerings. Students have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of human behavior, law and order, contemporary history, and culture with high quality educators. The social studies educators at FHS believe in not only true competency in their content area, but provide a wide range of ways to achieve understanding. They enhance student learning through engaging discussions, simulations, extended classroom experiences, as well as thinking like a historian through interviews, document based analysis, and writing.
