Land, Culture, Broader Perspectives


The fourth blanket - and the one that wraps around all elements of the child - is their sense of, and connection to, a broader perspective and may include your culture, language, faith and the environment.

Connections to students' own perspectives further strengthen their resilience. Valuing diverse perspectives and worldviews is immeasurable. It will ultimately have an impact on students' families and community and continue to ripple out from there into the world that we all share.

Guiding Questions:

  • What values are important to me? Why?
  • How will these values help guide my decisions?
  • How will understanding my values help me understand other people?
  • How can connecting with others who have a different perspective help me grow?
  • What are my Stretches, Strengths, Interests, "Next Steps"?
