Reading on a Snowy Day is the BEST!

On this beautiful snowy day the staff at PJ Library recommend you sit down and read a favourite book. Best done with a warm, snuggly blanket and a hot cup of coco. But, what if you run out of books to read at home? Have no fear...here are a few links to help quench your reading thirst. There are books for every grade, reading level and languages:

The Reading Link Challenge Books have been unveiled.

Please see our PJ Blog for more information!!

PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Attention all Parents!  Mme Gambin is looking for committed parents to volunteer in our school library. No experience is necessary but a committement to the school year would be helpful. Training will be provided (don't worry it's super easy) and duties would include shelving books, fixing books, labelling, and creating displays.

If you could spare 30-45 minutes before or after school once a week either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday your time will go a long way to help keep the library organized and clean! The morning slots are from 8:00-8:45am and the afterschool time would be between 3:00-3:45pm.

Please email Mme Gambin at cgambin@wvschools.ca for more information or to sign up.

Thank you!

The library is a great place to volunteer and it's a super relaxed place to be.

Why read? It's a fact! Reading 20 minutes day makes you a better reader:

PJ's Read-a-Thon in PJs

You read that right! PJ is having our first annual Read-a-Thon in Pyjamas day:

Wednesday November 1, 2023!!

What is a Read-a-Thon? It's a challenge to read a book for 20 minutes. ALL students and ALL staff (admin, TA's, Teachers, Support Workers, Caretakers, TOC's...) will sit down in the hallways of the school and silently read a book of their choice for 20 minutes from 9:15-9:35 AM.

What type of books? Your child can bring their favourite book from home, or borrow a book from the school or classroom libraries.

Can my child read a book in English? Yes! In fact, the book can be written in any language. We just want everyone actively reading and enjoy the act of reading.

Why in pyjama's? Because it's super fun and comfortable to read in pj's.
