PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Performance Attire:
6th and 7th Grade Choir Members
Top: Music Department Polo (click here for a Polo Order Form)
Bottom: Concert Black (See below)
8th Grade Choir Members
Top/Bottom: Concert Black (see below)
Students may choose to wear the Music Department Polo
“Concert Black”: All-black shirt, black pants/skirt, black socks/tights, all black shoes. Students who are comfortable wearing an all black dress can also opt for that. Shoes do not have to be dress shoes and can be athletic style, but please no sandals or slides. Shoes with a white sole are not acceptable.
Performance Attendance Policy:
Attendance at all choir performances is MANDATORY. Advance notice of all performances and rehearsals will be given (see Choir Calendar on the next page). Any changes will be announced immediately. An unexcused absence from a performance will automatically result in a grade of zero.
Excused absences will require a written excuse (letter or email) from a parent/guardian at least one week prior to an activity if an excused absence is anticipated. Makeup work will be given for excused performance absences only. If not completed, the student will receive a grade of zero. Excused absences include:
Family vacation/prearranged absences from school
Student illness/injury
Death in the family/family emergency
Religious holidays
School-sponsored events as approved by Mr. McGehee
If an emergency arises, please contact Mr. McGehee as soon as possible. He MUST receive a written excuse no later than 5 days following the unanticipated absence.
