The Trout Team helps care for the trout we will raise in the classroom.
The team meets before school or during 5th and 6th hour lunch from November to May.
The team works in small groups 3-4 times a week to monitor water quality in the tank, check on the health of the fish and feed them.
Apply to be part of the Trout Team.
Trout in the Classroom offers students a chance to raise trout from egg to alevin to fingerling and then release them into a nearby stream or river. Caring for the fish fosters a conservation ethic in the students, and the act of walking to a streambank and directly releasing the fingerlings into the water makes a concrete connection between caring for the fish and caring for the water.
