This was one of the first spreads I designed for our yearbook since golf happens so early in Colorado. I first picked out my dominant photo, which I made black and white. I knew his right arm would nicely interact with the headline. I then placed the green box for the main copy right below the headline but line up with the dominant photo. This allowed me to add my photo package with only one photo overlapping the dominant photo. Then, I added my black and green borders. I wanted to make room for another mod, so I placed that on the left side of the page in that black border. I made sure that it ended at the dominant photo but lined up at the start of the overlapping photo with the white outline on the right.Â
