Reading

This year we will follow the Journeys reading curriculum by Houghton Mifflin.

The ultimate goal of reading is comprehension. It allows the reader to make sense of what the text is about. We use these important strategic methods to improve comprehension throughout our daily reading block.

Journeys connects the skills of close reading into a routine designed to have learners dig deeper into the text.

This is how we respond to short answer questions about the text. Currently, we are working on restating the question and making sure we have answered all parts of the question.

We are becoming active readers by showing evidence from the source!
