These are listening activities.  I would use this together as a whole class.  Have them predict, listen, discuss (using reading strategies learned in English like prior knowledge), apply strategies for French learning such as cognates (words that sound similar in both languages), and determine what is happening as a group.  Then hit the translate button and verify.  I would also have them listen without seeing the text and see what words they can recognize from listening only.
