Students enrolled in CAP are eligible to take classes after school hosted at SCVTS at a 50% tuition discount
Eligibility criteria for new CAP students:
9th and 10th Grade Students
Incoming freshmen and current sophomores can begin taking classes as early as Spring 2025 after completing an application to SCC and passing the Accuplacer Test
11th and 12th Grade Students
Any juniors or seniors with a GPA of a 2.75 or higher can begin taking classes as early as Spring 2025 without passing the Accuplacer test
Seniors are eligible to begin taking dual credit classes during the school day, if interested please contact your guidance counselor for more information

Register to take the Accuplacer at SCVTS
Upcoming Accuplacer dates are posted on the guidance office website and students can register via their school email
In most cases, students will be notified of their Accuplacer results within a week of taking the test
After applying for SCC and passing the Accuplacer, students can register to take classes as early as the next semester!
Accuplacer Information:
This test is offered at no cost to students interested in registering for college classes and hosted at SCVTS. Students can take this test as many times as necessary. The Accuplacer features both a math and ELA portion, in most cases students will only need to take and pass the ELA portion in order to begin taking college classes.

Eligible to begin taking college classes
Score greater than or equal to 5 on the WritePlacer portion
Score a 4 on the WritePlacer portion AND greater to or equal to a 250 on the reading and writing portions
Not Eligible to begin taking college classes
Score less than or equal to a 4 on the WritePlacer portion AND less than or equal to a 250 on the reading and writing portions
Eligible to begin taking college classes
Score greater than or equal to 250 on the QAS portion
Not Eligible to begin taking college classes
Score less than 250 on the QAS portion
