Saudade means a nostalgic longing to be near something or someone again that is distant, or that has been loved and then lost. I was scrolling through Pinterest when I discovered this word. Fast forward to Halloween, I found myself only picking out the chocolate Reese's bars while going trick-or-treating - my favorites are actually Twix. From then on, I fully understood the word Saudade.
Technically this project was for school but it's one I'm most proud of - I was given the 60-second documentary challenge as my final exam in freshman year. This project was part of my Advanced Video Production curriculum, but the concept of the film itself has always been my dream project. It was my favorite project to work on and, by far, one of the best pieces I’ve ever created. This experience allowed me to introduce another side of my identity to my peers. Throughout the process, I learned so much about both filmmaking and myself.
