University Placement Coordinator/Supervisors:

Thank you for your interest in placing a Student Teacher in the Sacramento City Unified School District. To place a student teacher in one of Sacramento City's school sites, the University/Organization contact must complete and submit this request form. Once this request has been reviewed, New Teacher Support will get in touch with the University Contact to finalize the placement request. 

Please note:

• SCUSD must have a current MOU on file with the University. 

  • Please email Hillary-Harrell@scusd.edu to confirm and/or establish a current MOU with the subject line "Student Teacher Placement 24-25."  

• Student Teacher placements must be pre-approved by the Educator and Leadership Department. 

• Please submit a form for each student teacher (new form for any new placement requests required).

• Student Teachers must have completed the following requirements prior to starting any assignment in SCUSD:

  • Fingerprint Clearance from the Department of Justice & FBI through SCUSD

  • Verification of a current negative tuberculosis test. (valid no more than 60 days prior to submitting Student Teacher Application for SCUSD placement)

Student Teachers:

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Student Teacher with Sacramento City Unified School District, New Teacher Support program. 

1. Our office will receive a placement request from your university placement coordinator/supervisor. 

2. Assignments will be approved by our office

3. Once approved, Student Teachers will receive the Student Teacher Application and directions for how to complete the application.

4. Once we receive your completed Student Teacher Packet and confirm all requirements, you will receive an email from our office (studentteachers@scusd.edu) confirming you have cleared the student teacher placement process and may begin your student teaching assignment.

Until then, you may not participate in any district activities including online learning.
