THE STUDENT SUPPORT CENTER AT SAM BRANNAN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Sam Brannan's Student Support Center (SSC) Safe Zone is a collaborative service between SCUSD, Sacramento County Behavioral Health and the Sacramento County Office of Education. The SSC’s hopes to aid students, parents, caregivers and staff by enhancing school and community relationships that encourage greater success for students, as well as actively working towards reducing the stigma regarding mental illness.

Case management
Consultation and professional development for staff, parents and caregivers on topics such as restorative mediation, mindfulness, suicide prevention, general mental health, trauma informed care, conflict resolution, online safety, etc.
Mental Health Awareness Film Screenings
The SSC serves as a hub for students to drop-in during school hours to ask questions, get support, connect to community resources, learn new skills or just take a break. The SSC runs a variety of offerings ranging from 1:1 mentoring sessions, small groups and other clubs.
The Student support Center is funded thanks to the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Committee. SSC services are free and accessible to all Sam Brannan Students. Please note that services are reported to all partners.
