GAME TIME ALL THE TIME
RHS Athletic Philosophy
Our goal at RHS is to develop student-athletes who, through academics and athletics, learn the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, perseverance, self-improvement, and physical health. Our student athletes will develop the skills to balance high-level athletic competition with the maintenance of good academic standing.
In order to participate in athletics, each student must meet specific eligibility requirements. The school’s policy on athletics is as follows:
- Attendance—Attendance must be at 95% or better in all current courses.
- Tardies—No more than 6 tardies per quarter.
- Academics—A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required at the end of each semester.
- Citizenship—A mark of “Satisfactory” is required in at least 75% of the current course load and not more than one “Unsatisfactory” mark in the last quarter grade report. Any student suspended from school will be deemed ineligible to participate in any activity, competition, and/or event for 7 days after the incident. Teachers will not change grades to deem a student eligible nor change a grade to deem a student ineligible.
Transfer Guidelines
Any student who has attended another high school prior to Rosemont is a transfer student. Transfer students should communicate with their head coach and athletic director to begin the transfer process. Print and complete the Transfer Form and return to the athletic director. Sometimes the transfer process can take a while, the sooner the form is completed the sooner the student athlete will be eligible to play. Here is a link to the Parent Handbook for Understanding the Transfer Eligibility Procedure.
McCullough & Nicholson SVC Coaches of the Year!
Coach McCullough finds inspiration in seeing her players grow and improve in a sport she is so passionate about. She enjoys helping them develop their skills, build teamwork, and find love for the game. This season was filled with many highlights, including nearly defeating El Dorado, coming close against first place Liberty Ranch, and making it to the playoffs. With 24 years of coaching experience across girls, boys, and club volleyball, coach McCullough enjoys coaching the dedicated Rosemont team, who work hard, support each other like family, and embrace challenges. Being voted Coach of the Year by her fellow league coaches was a surprising and meaningful honor, to have them recognize all the hard work she has put into the team this year!
Coach Nicholson finds his inspiration for coaching in his players and their families, whose hard work, dedication, and sacrifice are truly moving. Now in his third year of coaching, this season stood out with several close games, especially a remarkable moment when goalie Ryan Familia blocked four consecutive shots in rapid succession. Coach Nicholson appreciates coaching at Rosemont because of the strong sense of community and the exceptional support from athletic directors and administration, which allows him to focus entirely on instruction. Being named Coach of the Year is an incredible honor as it validates the hard work he and his program have put in and the progress they have achieved this season
