Media Production I
Prerequisites: None
This beginning CTE Pathway course in Media Production provides entry-level training in graphic design, digital photography, image editing, and video production in a project-based environment. Students will be creating artistic products that demonstrate a knowledge of industry practices and professional expectations. Learn how to use a DSLR camera, work with studio lighting, produce videos, edit images, create digital illustrations, and gain experience in graphic design. Students will gain knowledge and skills using industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects. This is a hands-on class emphasizing classwork, not homework. Students are expected to have consistent attendance and be able to effectively utilize class time to complete their assignments.
Media Production II
Prerequisites: Media Production I
This 2nd-year CTE Pathway course in Media Production builds upon the entry-level skills gained in Media Production I. Students will further develop their knowledge and skills in graphic design, digital photography, video, and image editing. Students will increase their mastery in using industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects. This is a hands-on class emphasizing classwork, not homework. Students are expected to have consistent attendance and be able to effectively utilize class time to complete their assignments.
Media Production III
Prerequisites: Media Production II
This 3rd-year course in Media Production is the capstone class for the CTE Media Pathway. Students will select areas of concentration within media production and digital design with the intent of producing a portfolio of work showcasing their refined skills, creativity, and thinking. Students are expected to have consistent attendance and be able to effectively utilize class time to complete their assignments.
