Hello Room 8 Families,
We've made it to the last week of school! It's been the most interesting year of my teaching career, but I couldn't have asked for a better group of students and families along the way. Thank you for stepping up in a BIG way to make this school year the best it could be. Here is what's happening for our last four days:
Don’t forget our special schedule this week. Thank you to our PTA for providing popsicles as a special last day of school treat!
Monday, June 7 - regular A Cohort day
Tuesday, June 8 - B Cohort Day
Wednesday, June 9 - regular Zoom day
Thursday, June 10 - Last Day Celebration
4th Graders on campus from 8:30-10:00
The school day will be over at 10:00am on June 10th. There are no afternoon Zooms.
Electives (for next year)
While we are still awaiting some guidance on the details, we know that students will be back on campus full time, with electives, PE, and all of the things that make Arroyo special. Speaking of electives, please remember to complete the elective selection form no later than Wednesday.
Material Return
I have been asking students to bring back items to school over the past few weeks. Emails were sent out to families with missing items. Please bring everything back this week!
All Textbooks
Whiteboard
IPEVO cam and whiteboard
School supplies (Rulers, protractors, baskets, etc. No need to return pencils, pens, erasers, etc.)
Chromebooks (with chargers, hotspots, etc.)
Please let me know if you have any questions about what should be returned.
Final Work
There are a few items that students are finishing up before the end of this week. Please go over these items with your child to make sure they are ending the school year strong!
Book Mobile
CA Map
CA Passport
CA Fact Cards
Top 10 List
Time Capsule Response Letter
Symmetry Packet
Tessellation Art
Digital Memory Book
Self Portrait
District Writing Assessment
Students will be coming home with their District Writing Assessments this week. They were given one day to research and one day to write their persuasive/opinion essay. The assessment was done in April, after our unit on persuasive/opinion writing. There is a cover letter explaining the rubric system, the score sheet, and your child's writing. Please let me know if you have any questions after reading through it all.
I am wishing everyone a restful and relaxing summer break! I'll miss your children dearly, but they are always welcome back to Room 8.

HERE is the schedule for Phase 4.
The weekly overview is where you can find the agenda for each day, Zoom links, and small group information. Students can also find this on Google Classroom. Check back here regularly, as plans change throughout the week.
