Welcome Back! This is the start of your last semester of high school!!! Today we completed an IOC Prep Activity in order to review for your upcoming exam. The instructions are posted on google classroom.

Today in class we continued to prep for the IOC. You worked in pairs to deliver a verbal commentary on the poem you wrote about before break. Then you each delivered a verbal commentary on the poem you outlined yesterday. Finally, with any remaining time you chose the most challenging poem in the packet to outline on your own. I also posted the final schedule of IOC/D exam time and dates, make sure you know when you are testing!

Today in class we completed a digital jigsaw in preparation for the IOD exam ( responses are posted in the folder). Then we listened to two sample IOD's. Finally, you became familiar with the review folder and resources.

Today in class you used your time to work through the review folder in preparation for the IOD/C that start next week.

Today in class you had the option to continue reviewing for your IOC/D exam or start reading The Awakening and accompanying assignments in the folder.

Today in class you read a scholarly critique of The Awakening and answered post reading questions.

Today in class we watched the movie Hidden Figures and looked for similarities and differences with the female characters in The Awakening.

Today in class we finished the movie and then you prepped for a socratic seminar that we will be having next week by writing down some responses.

Today in class we celebrated the completion of the IOC/D exam. Then we read a sample paper 1 and went through the components of the rubric. Next you started peer editing a peer's paper 1.

Today in class you had a peer conference regarding your paper 1. Then you completed the mini outline assignment posted on google classroom. Finally, with any remaining time, you used the study guide posted in the folder below to prepare for your Exam on Thursday.

Today you took the Awakening Exam and checkout out the next unit book.

Today you practiced writing a paper 1 poetry response. Your homework is to read book 1 of HOD as well as the article and author notes posted in the folder below.

Today in class we had a fishbowl socratic on 4 passages from HOD book 1. Your homework is to read Book 2 by 2/27.

Today in class I assigned the Awakening Writing Assignment and you used the rest of the class to draft your responses. The assignment is posted on google classroom and is due by March 1st.

Today in class we reviewed a sample paper 1 and did a mock score. Then you worked on a book II group project. Your homework is to annotate your assigned passage for the fishbowl on Thursday.

Today in class you finished your group work. Then in small groups you worked on your book II passages. Finally you had a work period to finish your Awakening writing assignment due tonight.

Today in class we completed a HOD analysis and Awakening Comparison rotation. Your homework is to make sure book 3 is read by tomorrow.

Today in class we reviewed with a HOD plot video and then completed a character chart ( both are on google classroom).Then you completed 2 more stations.

Today in class we watched Apocalypse Now and you continued to fill in your character charts. We then checked on Their Eyes Were Watching God, Ch.1-3 is due 3/15.
