Tues, February 17: Briefly go over homework. Students finish portrait project, self-evaluate, and submit. HW: Archimboldo “Vertumnus” due Tuesday 2.24: Use a Secondary color scheme with black or darker analogous for shadows. You may shade for this one. (tonight drawing step 1).

Thur, February 19: Grade Vertumnus. Pass out Canson Bugs, Envelopes, Detail scissors, and bone folders. Students should put their name, period, and teacher on their envelope. Students cut out canson bug pieces. Go over scissor/cutting technique: have them cut out the entire bug (possibly including the holes in the wings, or emboss the holes in the wings). HW: Archimboldo “Vertumnus” due Tuesday 2.24. Use a Secondary color scheme with black or darker analogous for shadows. You may shade for this one. (tonight drawing step 3).
Fri, February 20: Students work on Practice Project. Finish embossing/debossing techniques. Go over scoring and folding techniques: show students how to score and fold the mandibles (pleating). Tonight: Drawing Step 1 in graphite.
