College Ambassadors

What are College Ambassadors?

College Ambassadors are a select group of student leaders who work directly with the College Counseling Department to help connect students with college resources, opportunities, and information. Ambassadors meet every other Thursday during Lyceum to share ideas, provide feedback, and help shape the way College Counseling serves the Scottsdale Prep community. Most importantly, Ambassadors serve as a student advisory council for the College Counseling Department, offering their perspective on what students need, what information is most helpful, and how we can better engage the student body.

What Do College Ambassadors Do?

Host College Representative Visits
Scottsdale Prep welcomes 80–100 college representatives each year, and Ambassadors play an important role in making these visits welcoming and meaningful. Students can greet representatives, help prepare refreshments, attend the visit, and sometimes write articles about their experience. Ambassadors also help promote upcoming visits through posters, flyers, and other creative ways to get students involved.

Write for Our College Counseling Community
One of the most important roles of a College Ambassador is writing. Ambassadors will contribute articles to our College Counseling newsletter, sharing reflections on college visits, advice for other students, helpful resources, and topics that matter to the Scottsdale Prep community. This is a great opportunity to develop professional writing, communication, and storytelling skills while helping other students navigate the college process.

Serve as a Student Advisory Council
Ambassadors provide ongoing feedback and ideas to the College Counseling Department. During our bi-weekly meetings, students can help us evaluate resources, brainstorm new initiatives, and share what is and isn't working for students. Their voice helps us make College Counseling more relevant, accessible, and student-centered.
