CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:

Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior at all times in class or in the lab. Disrespect towards the instructor or any class member will not be tolerated. Parental conferences and/or administrative intervention may be called at any time to help maintain a productive learning environment. In addition, when completing assignments or tests online, I hold students to the utmost integrity and cheating will not be tolerated.

LAB NOTEBOOK/ REPORTS:

EACH person will be responsible for keeping a lab notebook. In this course, you will write the lab report essentially IN YOUR NOTEBOOK while you are completing the experiment. You will be required to TYPE only 2 lab reports and 1 Critical Essay. Typed reports and essays will be submitted through google docs. Notebook checks will happen EVERY 2 weeks! You must have the lab report handwritten and completed in the notebook – and you must include a WORKS CITED part as well or risk getting a ZERO in sections that are plagiarized! For TYPED reports, I will ONLY grade ONE ROUGH DRAFT, so make it a good one! We will keep the same rubric as Chemistry-1 for the reports. **Expect less comments on rough drafts though –this is Chem 2!

TECHNOLOGY:

This is a BLENDED course. Meaning that instruction will happen both in the classroom and online as needed. We will be using a new platform called schoology which is linked to your school Gmail account. We will still be using Remind, google docs, sheets, and slides within the schoology platform.

ATTENDANCE:

Staying ON PACE is very important in this class.

The expectations are higher. If you are absent or get exposed or sick and require quarantine – then please use email, your lab partners, and schoology to your advantage. I will try my best to have work ready in schoology and will use Remind as a way to communicate (along with email). Sometimes we may be out of school … but pacing will still be a part of how you should continue to work -- so, if you get a week behind on assignments, expect a phone call. The key of handling class in these times is to COMMUNICATE!!!

TUTORING:

I will have ZOOM tutoring sessions on E-days and after school on Wednesdays.

If for any reason school is let out and we go online, then ZOOM sessions will be added EACH day.
