Hi, I'm Mrs. Holcomb!
"I love providing a challenge for my 3-4th grade gifted students! Implementing divergent, critical and creative thinking gives them every opportunity to shine. We love taking chances, making mistakes and getting messy in here. It is my mission to enhance the educational experience for my gifted students by focusing on the individual strengths as a learner. Every day we learn something new!"
I went to school at Auburn University and received my B.A. in Studio Art. I have worked as an installation artist, display coordinator, graphic designer, magazine photographer, and a gallery manager. While training and inspiring my creative interns, I discovered my love for teaching.
I decided to pursue education and I received my B.S. in Art Education from Athens State University. Since then, I have opened my own art studio, taught art in public schools, galleries and even museums all across the south. I truly love inspiring both children and adults to push their limits.
I believe it is this that lead me to the field of Gifted Education. While working with gifted students, I completed my M.S.Ed. in Gifted Education from Troy University. My students have some extraordinary abilities in an abundance of areas. Their ideas are constantly inspiring me and it is my hope that I am able to assist them in realizing their true potential. I believe in each of them and they have the capability to achieve GREAT BIG things!
My husband and I have been married since 2019. We enjoy a good adventure. We last traveled to Mexico for some cliff jumping, snorkeling and authentic cuisine. We have two cats, Janey and Olivia who love laying in the sun. We also have two dogs, Trip and Luna who love to be wrapped up in a good fuzzy blanket. I don't blame them!
