3-2-26
We have an exciting week ahead with Read Across America Week, National School Breakfast Week, and our Family Reading Night on Thursday. Read below for all the details!
National School Breakfast Week
This week we are excited to celebrate National School Breakfast Week! We encourage all students to start their day with a healthy breakfast in our cafeteria. Eating breakfast at school helps students focus, boosts energy, and sets a positive tone for learning. Our cafeteria team will be serving a variety of delicious options all week long, and we would love to see more of our students joining us in the mornings. Keep scrolling to view the menu for the week. Breakfast is available daily from 7:15-7:35 and is $2.75 for students that do not qualify for free/reduced meals.
As participation increases, we encourage families to check their childās meal account balance and add funds as needed. You can conveniently monitor and manage accounts through MySchoolBucks. Families who believe they may qualify for free or reduced-price meals are welcome to complete an application at any time; all information is kept confidential. The link for the application is below.
We look forward to celebrating a great week of fueling our students for success!
Free & Reduced Lunch Application
Did you know the Free and Reduced Lunch application is available year-round? We know this can easily be overlooked in August with all the additional back-to-school paperwork. If your circumstances have changed or you forgot to fill the application out earlier this year, you can access it here. Only one application is required for all children in the household.

āļø Special Author Visit!
We are thrilled to welcome Kentucky author and illustrator Amanda Driscoll to SGE! Every student will attend an assembly where she will share about writing and illustrating her books, the creative process, and how imagination turns into published stories. This is such a special opportunity for our students to meet a real-life author and see how books come to life!
š¶ļø Family Reading Night ā March 5 (5:00ā7:00 PM)
Join us for a cozy and exciting evening of literacy and community! Mrs. Driscoll will be available to meet families and sign books during our Family Reading Night.Ā She will have a FEW books available for sale that evening as well. This event will also feature our PTO Chili Cook-Off, a silent auction, and fun reading activities for families.Ā Itās going to be an incredible night of books, food, and community spirit! We canāt wait to see our studentsā imaginations catch fire as we celebrate the power of reading together. Thank you for your continued support in helping us build a strong culture of literacy at SGE.
Family Input for 2026-2027 School Year
As we look ahead to the 2026-27 school year, our goal is to create a learning environment that reflects the priorities and values of our families. To do that effectively, we need your feedback.
In the near future, our SBDM Council will be making critical decisions regarding our school's budget, staffing, and program offerings. Your responses to this survey will directly influence these decisions. The survey should take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. Please submit your feedback by this Friday, March 6. You can access the survey here.
Community Support Opportunity With "Serve Scott County" Day
We are pleased to share an opportunity for our Stamping Ground families to connect with neighbors who want to help.Ā On April 25th, the team from Cedar Grove Baptist Church will be spending their day volunteering across our county for their annual "Serve Scott Co." initiative.
The church is looking to partner with families in our community who may have a project at home but lack the physical support, resources, or ability to get it done on their own. If you have a task that has been weighing on you, this team would be honored to step in and help.
Types of projects they can assist with include:
Landscape/Yard cleanup
Light home maintenance or small construction projects
Cleaning or hauling items away
Other similar tasks
Ā
How to Participate: If you or someone you know in our school community could benefit from this extra set of hands, please reach out to Alison. This is a wonderful way for our local church members to serve the families who make our community so special.Ā Please email Alison Smith at alisonsmith@cedargrovebaptist.com to discuss your project.
To ensure they come prepared with the right tools, a church representative will need to stop by your home prior to March 23rd to assess the project and coordinate a plan.Ā Projects are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Substitute Teachers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get more involved at SGE while maintaining a schedule that works for you? We are looking for dedicated family and community members to join our pool of substitute teachers! This is a fantastic opportunity for those who want to support our students and staff while enjoying total flexibility.
Why Substitute at SGE?
Total Flexibility: You set your own availability. Work as much or as little as you like!
Stay Local: You can specifically request to only substitute at SGE, keeping you right here in our school community.
Make an Impact: Help maintain a consistent, high-quality learning environment for our students when their teachers need to be away.
Get Involved: See the "magic" of the classroom firsthand and become an even more integral part of our school family.
How to Apply
If you have a passion for education and a flexible schedule, we would love to have you. For more information on the application process and requirements, click here.

Student Illness
Please remember that students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school. If your child is feeling unwell or showing signs of illness, we ask that you keep them home until they are well enough to fully participate in the school day. These simple steps help protect all students and staff and allow us to maintain a safe, productive learning environment.
Morning Arrival & Dismissal
Please make every effort to arrive to school on time each morning. Our staff need to assume their other duties at 7:35 AM, and the school day officially begins at that time.
If the front door is closed when you arrive, please know itās not meant to be unkind ā it simply means youāre late and will need to sign your child in at the office. Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe start to every studentās day.
