At Royal Spring Middle School, we believe every student has the potential to be a leader. That's why we use the Leader in Me framework - a schoolwide approach that helps student build confidence, take responsibility for their choices, and develop the life skills they need to thrive.
Leader in Me is based on the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and is designed to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. It supports a culture where every student is seen as a leader, capable of making a difference in their school and community.
Through Leader in Me, our students will learn how to:
Set and achieve meaningful goals
Build strong relationships
Practice personal responsibility
Work well with others
Stay balanced and manage stress
Develop a growth mindset
Discover their unique strengths and talents
This approach not only prepares students for success in school, but also in life.
Be Proactive – I am responsible for my actions and attitudes.
Begin With the End in Mind – I plan ahead and set goals.
Put First Things First – I focus on what matters most.
Think Win-Win – I believe everyone can win.
Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood – I listen to others before I speak.
Synergize – I value other people’s strengths and work well in teams.
Sharpen the Saw – I care for my body, mind, heart, and spirit.
