Later stage trauma therapy: So many under informed healthcare workers think that a spot of EMDR or hypnosis will "fix" complex trauma? Of course not, it is a complicated process requiring in depth and very specialist training. One of the most useful possible methods is called narrative therapy: this is a short hand for CBT based analytic therapy, and in real life that means the many analytic strategies presented here!
Deeper meaning. Right from the start of psycholigical analysis, (sorry Freudians), and way before Sigmund Freud, we knew that depression, anxiety, anger, frustration and so on were sypmtoms, not actual conditions.
Change: Intention - Practice - Reflect - Repeat. This is a process based in science from multiple sources that I have learnt from Dan Siegel who is Director at the Mindsight Institute (and Professor at UCLA).
Coping: Sometimes it is not about how to cope, it is actually about the mindsight. So often clients have tried sensible strategies, but the overall strategy has been undermined by thought and method.
Narcarsissm and co-dependance. These are descriptions, not actual real like conditions. It is possible to change direction with both.
