Head Varsity Coach
Coach Colvin (Coach "Bark") is entering her fifth year coaching for Colonie Softball. In her time with the program, she was the Varsity Assistant from 2022-2023, completing two seasons with the team. In the 2023 season, Coach Colvin assisted Coach Sean Merchant and the team during their great run as the #1 team in NYS and to a sectional final game. The 2024 season will be Coach Colvin's first season as the Head Varsity Coach. This past season in 2025, she helped lead the team to become the #1 Team in NYS, Suburban Council Champions, and Section 2 Class AAA Runners-Up. Additionally, she coached in the Capital District Fusion organization from 2020-2022
Prior to coaching for Colonie, Coach Colvin played at the University at Albany from 2016-2021. During her college career, she helped her team win back-to-back America East Conference Championships (2017 & 2018). Additionally, she was a multi-time America East All-Academic Team selection, All-Championship Team selection in 2021, and the America East Women of the Year in 2020.
Before entering college, Coach Colvin was a 4-year varsity athlete at Shenendehowa in the class of 2016. In high school, she had many successes including 1st Team All-Star & All-State selections and 2016 Suburban Council Player of the Year. She also was a 2-year starter on the Shen Field Hockey team that went to the NYS Championships in 2015.
Coach Colvin's favorite softball memories include traveling to the University of Alabama & the University of Oregon to play in the NCAA Regionals. Additionally, she has cherished the relationships with her teammates and coaches she has made over the years and for life. Her favorite coaching memory was the Colonie Varsity team's runs during the 2025 & 2023 seasons and comebacks in the sectional finals games. She is looking forward to the 2026 season and is excited to get going!
Assistant Varsity Coach
Coach O'Gorman ( "OG") is excited to be joining the Colonie Softball staff this year in her first year coaching high school softball. Although in her first year here, Coach O'Gorman has had a wide variety of experiences coaching youth softball. These include; coaching Miss Shen Softball Hitting Camps, Cortland Softball clinics, and assisting the Yellow Team at the Deanna Rivers Memorial Tournament for the last 5 years.
Coach OG is a SUNY Cortland alumni where she was a starter for 5 seasons from 2016-2021. As a player and captain of the team, she had many outstanding accomplishments during her career including;
Helping lead her team to two SUNYAC Championships in 2017 and 2019
2021 NFCA DIII All-American (Athletic and Academic)
Division 3 National Player of the week in 2021
SUNYAC Co-Player of the Year in 2021
2021 SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year
2-time 1st team All Region Selection (2018 & 2021)
2nd team all-region selection in 2019
3-time 1st Team All SUNYAC Selection (2018, 2019, 2021)
Named to the SUNYAC All-Decade Team (2010-2019)
She was also awarded the M. Louise Moseley Award in 2021 for her strong leadership skills and academic achievement.
Before Cortland, Coach OG was a 2016 graduate of Shenendehowa High School, where she was a 4-year varsity player (alongside Coach Barkevich) and a 1st team All-Star Selection.
She is currently a 7th Grade English Teacher at Sand Creek Middle School. Her favorite softball memories include winning the SUNYAC Championships with her Cortland teams in 2017 & 2018, along with being able to make life-long friends throughout her career.
