Coach Szesnat is a Colonie Alumni entering her third year of coaching, one year at the Modified 7/8 Level and this will be her second year as the JV Head Coach 

Coach Szesnat played at SUNY Cortland from 2018-2021. Here she received the honors of First Team All-SUNYAC, First Team All-Region, and Third Team All-American.

Before college, Coach Szesnat was a 5 year varsity softball player at Colonie. She was a two-time First Team and Second Team All-League selection. In her senior year she earned the honor of Section Two All-Star as well as Second Team All-State.

Coach Szesnat is excited to be a part of something that had such an impact on her life and continue to watch her players develop as athletes.

Coach Dongelewic ("Mr. Coach") has a long history of coaching youth sports.  During the 2023 school season, Coach Dongelewic coached the Colonie Softball Mod 7/8 team alongside his wife, Jen Dongelewic ("Mrs. Coach").  He has coached 8 years of Spring Youth Baseball, along with 6 years coaching the Spring Renegades Travel Baseball Team.  Coach Dongelewic was also on the Colonie Boys Soccer JV staff this past fall.  During his coaching tenure, some of his accomplishments include:

• Eastern NY State Chapioms at the 8u, 10u, 11u, and 12u levels

• Middle Atlantic 12u Champions 

• Cal Ripken World Series 12u Semi-Finalists (Spring Renegades)

• Undefeated 2023 Seasion for Mod 7/8 Softball (14-0)

Coach Dongelewic's favorite moment of coaching was when he was able to watch 9 out of the 12 past baseball players he coached sign Letters of Intent to play at Division 1 or Division 2 baseball programs.  His favorite part about coaching are the life-long bonds that are formed between himself, as the coach and the student-athletes.
