A career coach partners with students and job seekers of all ages in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaches honor each individual as the expert in their own life and work and believe each individual is creative, resourceful and whole.
Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:
Help clarify, and align with what individuals want to achieve
Encourage self-discovery
Elicit solutions and strategies
Hold each individual responsible and accountable
To become a coach in the GRIT project you must:

Take the individual assessment on futureplans.com - 3 hours
Create a coach training account on futureplans.com and complete the following:
Watch introductory video regarding GRIT and coaching – 30 minutes
Complete the exercise “Construct your Career Story” - 2 hours
Complete the emotional intelligence self-assessment – 30 minutes
Complete coach training modules 1-7 – 7 hours
NOTE *This is a volunteer position. All coaching will be delivered through virtual tools. All coaches are required to pass a background check prior to beginning.

Access to the coach training is granted after obtaining a training code and creating an account on futureplans.com.
