Looking out the window your face is covered with a tree branch that extends almost across your entire house. This tree branch may not do much but it is fun to look at when it’s windy. Everytime there is a storm you hear this branch bang against the window, its own noise that adds on to the thunder and rain drops hitting the leaves and road. This sound soothes you. Soon the storm is done and you can finally see out your window where the tree is. You look past the tree in an empty lot you have seen nothing for as long as you could remember. Though you may think the branch hitting the window might seem fine to you, your parents know it could damage the house and decided that they need to cut it down. The branch is finally cut and now during the storm you still hear the patterning of the rain on the leaves from what is left of the tree and the rain drops hitting the floor. Now the branch is gone you can see even farther past the lot and the midday sun reaches into your room. It feels weird without the sound but you know this needs to happen. Though you miss the branch, having this extra visibility makes you still enjoy the window view. The tree that was at one point covering your window is still standing there. Soon you find out that the view from your window will change again because your parents decide they will now cut down the tree. Looking at your window you see the giant tree slowly disappear as the days go by. You slowly feel the sadness creep in as the tree keeps disappearing. By the end of the week the tree is finally gone and the sound of leaves having raindrops hit it finally stops. Once the tree is gone you get a clear view of the entire lot in front of you and there is nothing to stop the midday sun from beaming into your room. This sun once covered by something you once enjoyed being around is now a reminder that it is gone.
