*beep**beep**beep* (100%) That's how it starts every morning, the sound that wakes me up. I snoozed through this sound about two more times before I woke up. I check the item that wakes me up every morning and keeps me connected to the world, my phone. I don't want to waste battery or time so I get a mental note of the time on my phone and go get ready for school. I leave it the same as I left it last night and leave it there until I’m done and ready. Once I’m done and ready to leave I grab my phone. I put on headphones and head to school.
(99%) On the way I check the transit app to see when the next bus will arrive. I sit there on tik tok until it arrives. I scroll through each video in the bright sun and cold air until I can start making my way to school. The bus arrives after I don’t know how long but when I get on I find a spot to sit and just go along on the ride scrolling through my phone and opening other apps to see what has been happening.
(93%) I made it to school and went to class. Once in class I pulled my phone back out from my bag since I had to put it away while I went through the metal detector when I first came in. I put the phone back into my pocket and listened to class. I don't use it until I have to check something important. I use it during lunch while I wait for the next class. Sit down and check some of my social media and then scroll through Tik Tok. Class starts and I put it back away. The mental draining school I go through just makes me want to just get back on my phone.
Making it to the end of the day I know I have (65%) on the phone still left, but my body feels like it's at (40%) and I get to go home. I make it home and start to feel tired (35%) but I know I just need to do some more simple things and I can relax. I finished work, walked my dog, and I can relax on my phone which is still good to use (35%). Now it's almost time for me to go and rest (10%) but just one more video on my phone before I go to sleep (3%). My phone finally dies and I should definitely go to sleep with how i’m feeling (1%).
*beep**beep**beep* (100%) New day, new me.
