The Mental Health Team at CGHS understands that students at CGHS might need a little extra support during E-Learning in these unprecedented times. If you are concerned about the mental wellness of a student who attends CGHS, please take a few minutes to fill out our NEW Mental Health Referral Form. Please note that it may take up to 3 business days for someone on the mental health team to make initial contact with the identified student. ** If this is a mental health emergency during non-school hours, please call Colorado Crisis Services at 1.844.493.8255. Please call 911 if this is a life-threatening emergency.
Filling out this form does not mean that the identified student is receiving therapy. It is simply the first step is supporting the person. The check-ins provided by the mental health team at CGHS are check-ins only, not therapy. If, during the initial check-in, it is found that there is a need for regular check-ins and/or support from a school-based provider, the student’s parents/guardians will be contacted, informed of the proposed goal the student will be working with the provider on during these check-ins, and a permission form MUST be signed before regular check-ins are scheduled. There might be instances in which someone on the mental health team will recommend that the identified student see a therapist in the community, and in such instances, the mental health team will reach out to the student’s parents/guardians in order to provide resources for therapists in the community.
