The Pinnacle Enrichment Program (PEP) at BHS is designed to give students who are passionate about English, Maths, Science and/or HaSS opportunities to enrich their learning experiences in and beyond those subject Key Learning Areas. In 2026, PEP opportunities are available in different ways depending on KLA and students' stage of development.
Year 7/8 English HaSS Extension: This program takes the form of a series of regular incursions and excursions, where learn from a variety of experts about English/HaSS related ideas. Students must also compete in relevant student competitions and complete extension assessment.
PEP Mathematics/Science classes: A PEP stream of Maths and Science is offered from Years 7 to 10. Students complete the mainstream curriculum content and assessment plus additional enriched learning experiences/assessment.
Year 9/10 English/HaSS Eelectives: All students are enriched by choosing electives within their mainstream English and HaSS classes, generating enrichment and engagement from pairing teachers who are passionate about a strand of learning within the KLA with students interested in that strand.
Year 10 Mathematics Extension: Students who love Mathematics and plan on studying the advanced streams of Mathematics at college should select this from the elective offerings for Year 10, including a double Major in Mathematics.
Year 10 Literature: Students who love reading and analysing challenging written material are encouraged to select this elective. It is great preparation for the Literature stream of English at college as well as for those considering a double major in English at college.
