YLC Theme: Reduce Waste and Recycle
On Saturday April 20th, 2024, the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) at Ditmas JHS in Brooklyn, NY did something great! The youth leaders decided that participating in this was a part of their community action project.
Alongside their family members and community members, five students from our YLC participated in the Neighborhood Beautification Day. The youth leaders rolled their sleeves up and got to work, making flower beds, planting flowers and picking up trash around the neighborhood. With their actions the neighborhood is a more beautiful place!
Each participant received 5 community service credits for beautifying the neighborhood.
The beautification day was sponsored by the Church-Flatbush Community Alliance in partnership with Q Gardens, the E.19th Green Team, Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, and the New York City Department of small business services.
Here's a list of the 8th grade leaders who participated in the event!
Congratulations! on a job well done!
