The South Shore Campus library is located in Room 101 just past the main entrance to the left of the elevators. Please use the center door to enter the library.
The library is open 8:30-2:30, outside of Ms. Falco's lunch, which is from 1:20-2:05.
All South Shore campus students may visit the library independently during their lunch periods.
During lunchtime, you're welcome to visit the library after you've eaten your lunch. Policies on how to enter the library vary by school. You'll need to have your ID with your school name to enter the library, and you must surrender your pass and sign in upon arrival. All food and beverages must be finished before you leave the cafeteria.
ACE, BTA, & UPC: If you don't plan to visit the cafeteria to eat lunch, you can come straight to the library and sign in. If you would like to eat first, you'll have to grab a pink pass on your way to the cafeteria and return when you're done eating. Lunch passes will not be given out after the first 10 minutes of the lunch period. If you come down later than 10 minutes into the lunch period, you cannot come straight into the library or get a pass and you will be sent straight to the cafeteria.
Brooklyn X & Victory: At your lunch time, you are to report straight to the cafeteria, whether you are eating or not. Once you've finished eating, you can get a pink pass from the designated person for your school (BKX, see Patrick, and Victory, see Ms. Stevens) and head down to the library.
If you need to come to the library during class, you must have a written pass from a teacher with your name, the date, the time, your school, and a teacher's signature. A bathroom pass will not be accepted. Teachers can also call me at extensions 1003 and 1004.
Books can be checked out during lunch periods or other times coordinated with classroom teachers. Students can check out up to 5 books at a time and books must be checked out with Ms. Falco before leaving the library.
You can also get books 24/7 by going to our eBooks tab for access to the city's eBook collection on Sora.
Print books are loaned for 3 weeks. eBooks are automatically returned in 2 weeks.
No! Please return your books in a timely manner so that others can enjoy them, but don't worry if your book is a few days late. If you don't return the book at all, you will be charged to replace the book at the end of the year.
We are a "One Rule" room - If what you are doing interferes with learning, hurts someone, or prevents you from being your best self, you shouldn't be doing it.
In addition, food is not permitted in the library, though you may drink water when not around books or computers.
