Dear SISCL Parents and Guardians,
We are happy to announce that Summer Rising will take place at our School, The Staten Island School of Civic Leadership – P.S. 861, this Summer 2025!
About Summer Rising:
- Summer Rising is available to all current Kindergarten through current 8th grade students
- K-5 Summer Rising will run July 2 – August 15
- 6-8 Summer Rising will run July 2 – August 8
- Students will be provided with free breakfast and lunch
- Programming will include academics led by NYC Public School staff and enrichment activities held by DYCD Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
How To Apply:
- This year registration will take place through your MySchools account at https://www.myschools.nyc/en/
o The registration window is open from March 4 through March 28, 2025
o Spaces are limited. Please apply early.
§ You must list your program choices in the order you would like them.
§ You should put P.S. 861 FIRST to secure a spot at our school.
o Parents must submit an application for elementary aged and middle school ages siblings separately. However, if your children are in the same age group, you can link them as siblings.
o 5th Grade students have the ability to apply to elementary school programs AND middle school programs at a parents discretion.
o If you have a MySchools account, login and apply for your child/children accordingly.
o If you need to create a MySchools account, you will need your email address, your child’s 9-digit student ID number and a MySchools account creation code, which you can get by contacting our SISCL's Parent Coordinator, Helen Larino with your name, child’s name, and contact number.
o Summer Rising acceptance announcements are expected to be release by the end of April.
