Ursula has been Teacher Development and Evaluation Coach for the last 11 years. Prior to being a teacher development and evaluation coach, she served as an assistant principal for 5.5 years at Paul Robeson HS where she supervised Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Special Education. Ursual proceeded to get NYS certification for two CTE programs, Academy of Finance and Virtual Enterprise. She procured over $2,000,000 in city, state, federal, and private funding for technology, professional development, and student internships. I supervised 40% of the faculty in the phaseout, encompassing Special Education.

From 1996-2006, Ursula taught Marketing, Fashion, Business Law, Accounting, and Microsoft Office subjects at Murry Bergtraum HS. Ursula wrote curricula and led students to conduct market research surveys and to compete in marketing events. Her first leadership role was as a coop coordinator where She supervised students on their work sites. She then became a career/departmental coordinator where She assisted the department chair with the CTE Program Approval process. Prior to working in education, Ursula also worked in advertising, marketing, retail, and sales, and developed her own accessory company.

Additionally, for the past six years, Ursula conducted action research for her Pre-K through 12 teachers in all subjects around a self-selected problem of practice. 40 teachers through 20 partnerships within District #15 Middle Schools and across Brooklyn North HS meet monthly to support each other with the observation and feedback cycle, practicing various feedback strategies to select high impact next steps for each other to work on through an SEL and Equity lens. In 2019, she became certified to teach yoga and mindfulness with Yoga Alliance approved 200-hour certification. She has accumulated 400 hours of teaching students, parents, teachers, school leaders, school support employees, security, and central level staff, as well as community classes and consultancies through the Educational Administration Association (EAA) and COSEM (Coalition of Schools Educating Mindfully). Ursula obtained my 95-hour Yoga Alliance certification to specifically teach children and assisted in the preliminary stages in curriculum writing through/for NYCDOE’s own yoga program, Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Preparation Program (YMTPP). She is also currently serving as the point person for SEL screeners in her district, where she supports streamlining workstreams for principals during pre-implementation and implementation phases. Additionally, in 2020, She had the distinct opportunity and privilege to work with the Office of Leadership, where she has served in a cohort with 20 superintendent level NYCDOE employees to serve new school leaders through the New Principal Support Program (NPS). Ursula have pending certification with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) at the professional level.
