Paula Stein is delighted to be a part of the District 15 team as the District Manager of Operations and Special Projects. She has been educating children since 1999, working as an NYC elementary school teacher in various roles during her tenure. Prior to coming to District 15, she served as an instructional specialist at the Queens North Borough office. As an instructional specialist, she provided targeted professional learning to school leaders including Principals, Assistant Principals, lead teachers and coaches using a capacity building model. Through her individual school support, she guided school-based instructional teams in analyzing data, identifying  patterns and trends and using that information to develop an instructional focus and develop professional learning plans for teachers that incorporate high-leverage, research based practices. Utilizing her deep knowledge of the science of reading and the foundational reading skills, Paula has supported schools in strategically using literacy screening assessment data to evaluate and strengthen core instruction and academic interventions within a responsive and equity based Multi-tiered System of Support to improve reading outcomes for all students.

Paula grew up in Brooklyn and attended NYC public schools. She enjoys spending time with her family and in her spare time enjoys  reading, traveling, and cooking.
