Anthony Pizzillo is the Director for Multilingual Learners/English Language Learners. While a member of leadership at the Brooklyn North Borough/Citywide Office he managed the ML/ELL compliance and instructional supports for 232 schools in Districts 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 23, 32 and Brooklyn North High Schools. He and his team provided professional learning supports in both ENL policy and strengthening instructional practices for ML/ELLs. Additionally, he oversaw the opening of approximately 20 bilingual programs, both dual language and transitional bilingual, throughout the districts. Prior to becoming a director, Anthony was an Instructional Lead for the Brooklyn North Borough Field Support Center and an ELL Achievement Coach with Children's First Network 102/113. His first 13 years with the New York City Department of Education were spent teaching ENL(ESL) in middle and high schools in Queens and the Bronx. Anthony has a Masters of Arts from New York University in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Foreign Language (Italian), and an Advanced Certificate in Administration and Supervision from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
