Through strong relationships among students, staff, and families, we foster a culture of respect, creativity, and high expectations for all.

Our Instructional Focus

At P.S. 18, we use student data to personalize instruction and ensure equitable access to rigorous learning. Students keep their eyes on the text by actively engaging with complex texts, consistently referring back to the text to build understanding, support their thinking with evidence, and deepen discussions and written responses. Through rich academic routines, students develop independence and deep understanding by using academic discourse to explain their thinking, collaborate with peers, and apply rigorous practices across all areas of learning.
