PS 175 is a community of learners where staff, students, and families work together to meet the instructional and social emotional needs of every child. A focus on the development of practices that support student wellness, instructional strategies that cognitively engage students in relevant, rigorous tasks and opportunities that foster the STEAM approach to instruction, will result in high levels of achievement and prepare students for college and careers and ensure accelerated student success.
Formative and summative student data will drive planning and instruction. This will allow teachers to plan for and implement relevant and rigorous tasks that provide multiple entry points in order to engage and challenge all students in preparation for college and careers and to ensure accelerated student success.
For the 2024-2025 school year, if teachers utilize clear, consistent measurements of student progress towards grade-level standards and all stakeholders analyze data regularly to make informed decisions to supplement and adjust the curricula, then student achievement levels will increase.
If we support our teachers in unpacking our curriculum through an equity lens, we can identify opportunities for students to apply the 5 pursuits and/or supplement the curriculum resulting in more culturally responsive instruction that will increase the level of student engagement leading to student success.
